Over the Wall: In Print

We’re getting closer to the release date for my book, so I think its time for an update.

I talked a bit about this in a previous post, but, to recap, Over the Wall is being published (in much edited and polished form) by Uncivilized Books and will be out early this July. What I didn’t mention was how to buy the book, so let’s do that now.

Actually, one more thing first. We recently got a proof of the book from the printer, and here’s what Over the Wall will look like:

Nice, huh? If you want some specifics: the book is 104 pages long (as opposed to the 84 online–so yeah, some stuff got added), softcover, and generally looks awesome.

If you want to get your hands on it, here’s where to go:

Pre-order from Uncivilized Books (signed copy)Pre-order from Amazon

You’ll get the book at a lower price and, as an extra thank you, I’ll be signing all of the copies pre-ordered through Uncivilized Books.

I’m pretty psyched with the way the book has turned out; it’s fulfilling to flip through real, paper pages of something you’ve created, and I think the extra work we did pushed the story up a level or two. So go grab a copy! Or even post about it in your social-media platform of choice, every bit helps. Thanks!

Stumptown

stumpHey everyone! I’ll be in Portland for Stumptown on April 27 and 28 helping out at the Uncivilized Books table. My book won’t be out yet, but feel free to come by and say hi!

No update this Wednesday / Check back Friday!

I’m off with family so there will be no comic this Wednesday. I’ll have the comic up this Friday instead.

Have a great Christmas!

EDIT:  Also the WordPress update seems to have messed up the Webcomic plugin. Please excuse the odd error message, I’ll get it fixed as soon as I get back.

No comic this Wednesday.

I’m off with my family for Independence Day, so there will be no comic this Wednesday. Happy 4th to all you US folks, hope you all have a good time watching pretty things explode in the sky. The comic will be back next week.

Guy with a gun.

Just some mindless drawing. If anyone can guess what game I was playing just before drawing this they get, like, 10 points.

One Year In

I’m jumping the gun a bit here, as the first page of the comic was posted on June 25th, 2011 (right here), but I started work on the comic long before anything got online so I figure I can post something a tad early.

So yeah. One year. Crazy how time flies. I have to say I’m pretty happy with the way Over the Wall has been turning out–if nothing else drawing a page a week, every week, for an entire year has helped my drawing immensely.

I’ve always conceived of Over the Wall as a shorter comic, and I now have a (still rough) page count for you: 68-70 pages. I have a few ideas of what I want to do next, but I’ll talk more about that when the time comes. Mostly, just be aware that this won’t be a long-form comic, but a short story that will be coming to a close in 30 or so pages (although I doubt this will be the last time I draw Arya or her world).

I also want to thank everyone who’s been reading–I know I don’t do a lot to reach out to an audience beyond posting pages, but I really do appreciate your taking the time to read this strange little comic of mine. Thanks!
